More Family Time

After church Great Grandpa, Aunt Karen, Uncle James, and Cousin Abby came to visit. While John was most shy at first, he quickly warmed up to Abby. We all knew he would! They both had lots of fun together playing inside and out. It was cool and overcast here today, a nice respite from the heat we've already experienced in Texas. Once John got over his brief shyness, he had plenty of folks to play with. When Aunt Susan arrived, she won him over immediately with a gift of straws, foodstuffs, and a new little flashlight.

Even though John's drum is at home, he managed to create a drum out of a ball and screwdriver. He'd been using the hammer, but it got taken away when he tried to use the hammer on Aunt Karen instead of the ball. Sometimes, he acts too cute for his britches and that gets him into trouble!

After a decent nap (almost 2 hours), he wasn't the happiest kid on the block. Lots of whine! But somewhere in there he asked for Aunt Susan. Not that he really wanted her. All he wanted was Momma! Since a snack makes most everything better, our once happy go lucky dude returned to himself with food in hand. Before Susan left for the evening, I got this great photo of John and Aunt Susan together.

From the mouth of John: He was playing with the tassels on a lamp Bev has in her living room. He must have pushed a little too hard and it started to fall over. Luckily, Daddy was there to catch it. John remarked, "Oooh, that was close!"
