To get the mail

The tree is still not decorated, but the wreath is on the door. It sounds like tomorrow will be cold and SNOWY (Can you believe two December snows in a row?!? In Houston! That's global warming!). So, chances are good that the tree will get decorated this weekend. I got lots of shopping done today so there's something to put under the tree now, too. Once I wrap them, of course!
As usual, John got distracted on the way to get the mail. You'd think that after all this time, he'd be bored of acorns. But not really. He could spend an hour out there just looking at the same pile. So much to see. We did finally make it to the mailbox, only to get stopped again on the way back home by the same pile. Luckily, Dad was coming down the street and I managed to convince John to run go see Daddy.

He had lots to say to Daddy's carpool buddy Kevin. He even traded keys with him, mine for Kevin's. But John decided mine were better and traded for them back.

We went to John's company party tonight. The sitter was our regular one, Christie. I decided I would warn John ahead of time that she was coming and that we would be leaving. He did get whiny early and threw a large show when Christie arrived. But she said as soon as we'd walked out the door and she started to read a book, he was fine. He asked for his bath early and to go straight to bed without rocking. He was tired, as is usual for MDO days.
