Funny face
After the nap and before Daddy got home, John and I ventured out to get the mail. It was cool here today - a high of 55. The sun tried to break through the clouds but it wasn't successful for very long. So we bundled up and braved the wind for our walk. Afterwards, John didn't want to go inside. He wanted to sit on the porch. At least the porch was protected from the wind.
Lately he's all about my keys. He carried them all the way to the mail box and back again. And he didn't want to give them up, even when we went inside. And he really didn't want to come inside. He so loves to be outside. It will be interesting to determine just how cold it has to be for him to NOT want to go outside.
He's become so animated the last few days. He babbles all the time and often puts several words together. Many times in the last few days, he's used words that I didn't know he knew. Today when we sat down for lunch, he asked for "jelly". Huh? Turns out he wanted some Jello. He didn't really eat it, but it was fun to play with. He did ingest more than he did last time he tried it. He kept sticking his fingers in it and then licking them clean. And he also uses possession on things, Momma's jacket or John's shoe. He tries to feed himself ("John do it"), although he hates to get anything on his hands. So if they get dirty, he often says, "Momma do it." And yesterday he wowed his teachers at school by pointing out letters and telling them what it was and what started with that letter. He's not doing so much "Hold me, hold me!" and when he does, if we remind him he needs to ask nicely, he often drops the whine completely and says "Please!" with a note of desperation. The only time he'll sit still for any length of time is when the Imagination Movers is on, definitely his favorite TV show right now.
