Fun at the playground!

Today was pretty low-key. We stayed in for lunch and went to the park afterward, taking John's little push car. It was around 78 degrees today so we all had shorts on. In the sun, you warmed up quickly! And it's only Jan 3! We did get some video of him pushing the car on the basketball court, but he was much more interested in the grass. Later we took a turn on the swing and played on the little playground equipment. John always has fun peeking through the holes in the hut. I guess JHP is maturing... He sure smelled like BOY when we got home!

In other news, Daddy broke some parts on his new radio controlled helicopter (J_cubed gave it to him for Christmas). It will have to get worked on before flying again!

Day 2 - 2009

From the time we introduced the stacking cups, John has always liked the smallest red one. He has recently discovered that the smallest one fits mostly in his mouth. This morning I caught him seeming to use it as a pacifier. He had it in his mouth for several minutes until it slipped out. Then he quickly grabbed it and stuck it back in. Oh, and notice the little hairdo the arranged itself during the night!

The second picture for today is from one of our regular lunch hangouts - Chick-Fil-A. We sat near the play area today and JHP was totally enthralled in all the activity. He did finally take a break to eat some lunch himself. Notice Daddy's expression - looks like he's having more fun that John is.

And lastly, I don't have a picture but I have a story to tell. SNBNA came over tonight for supper. We bought JHP for Christmas some refrigerator letters with a little docking station that says the letter (Leap Frog). (It's a little advanced, but we all know our child is gonna be a genius ;)!) Anyway, Andrew was sitting on the floor playing with the letters and JHP crawled over and wanted to play, too. John first reached for a letter that Andrew was holding and, of course, Andrew didn't give it to him. Then John just started to pat Andrew on the head and then used both hands to pat and leaned into him. The whole time Andrew is saying "Ow!" and talking with us. Barbara told him to give John a letter, but by that time John figured out that he was amusing us, and kept patting Andrew and smiling, while Andrew kept saying "Ow!" and carrying on a conversation with us. Never once, did Andrew draw back or squirm away, he just took it like a man! What a guy! If he had moved, John, for sure, would have taken a good tumble onto the tile floor. Meanwhile, I was laughing too hard! I really wish I'd have had the video camera to capture the moment. Still pictures would not have done it justice!

A new year and a new project!

I've decided to try Project 365 where you take at least one photo a day to document everyday life. While I might try to scrap some of these, my plan is to upload the individual pictures here for your enjoyment. John suggested I try to limit myself to one photo per day. Isn't he funny?!? It seems that when I take photos I take many, but I may go for days without taking any. Just a quirk I have, I guess. I will continue with uploading a group at a time to WebAlbums like I've been doing. But my goal is a picture and a post a day, although I might get behind and need to bunch them up. The demands of life, you know!

So here is today's photo(s). I know, I know. I couldn't limit myself to one today. I couldn't NOT start this project without a picture of JHP or of John N (or myself, for that matter). The first one is of John Harrison, who, I've just about decided, is becoming a ham for the camera. Check out this smile:

This project is supposed to be about what we do in life everyday, and we can do things for no reason except to do it. Here is John N imitating JHP's expression from the (in)famous hair picture (see entry Dec 6, 2008). It's a little fuzzy, but you get the drift.

And here is another shot of us with me taking a picture of John in the mirror. And last, here is a picture of the peeps Daddy made with JHP's MegaBlocks (Thanks June!). It's a boy and a girl! I think Daddy is enjoying the blocks more than JHP is at this point. And I know that Daddy is just waiting until we can get some regular size Legos for JHP. Might be a few years, though!

See you tomorrow!
