Papa Jim came to see us today and collect Nana and take her home tomorrow. Unlike the last time we saw him, John seemed excited to see Papa Jim and to play with him. The first order of business was to sit and color. Papa Jim's legs are super long and John's little table was too small. But John didn't understand and kept asking him to sit and color. Jim finally relented and knelt to color with John. Then they went to play cars and whatever else John could con Papa Jim into doing with him, including reading lots of books. I was cooking today and, of course, John wanted to see. So, Papa Jim lifted him up on his shoulders so that John could see everything.
Jimmy, Jane and June came over to see us today. June was so anxious to play with her cousin, but John was napping. Finally about 430p or so, John woke and Jimmy got him out of his bed. JHP was so happy to see the family and to play with June. He's leading her into the living room to play with Handy Manny's toolbox.
Later they shared a snack. But John seemed threatened every time June took something from the shared plate. I kept reassuring him that there was plenty for both of them. But he continued to whine occasionally. I guess he needs to learn a bit more about sharing.
SNBNA joined us for our regular Friday night pizza. We all had a good time and the kids had lots of fun together. I didn't really realize how loud the house had gotten until it was just us left in the house with Nana and Papa Jim. Oh, the quiet was so nice! But it didn't last long. John was ready for bed and got upset that he couldn't go to bed when he wanted right then. So he cried through the tooth brushing and the bath. But soon enough he was in bed and quiet.
